myrepeats.com - Award Winning
Press Release
Chemist+Druggist, the leading pharmacy news weekly magazine, has just announced the winners of the inaugural C+D Awards at a glittering awards ceremony in London. The elite from the pharmaceutical industry celebrated the fantastic achievements from the entire industry with awards going to 12 individuals and pharmacies across different categories.
Lime Tree Pharmacy and Shelley Community Pharmacy took the prize for Business Development of the Year. The two pharmacies put aside their competitive differences to create an internet-based repeat dispensing system (www.myrepeats.com). This service enables patients to manage their repeat prescriptions much more effectively and has attracted national attention.
The judges said they were impressed with the service saying "This is an innovative solution to a local problem and demonstrated a collaborative approach".
Judging for the awards was carried out by the UK chief pharmacists and senior representatives from the UK's biggest pharmacy organisations. In association with the National Pharmacy Association, the C+D awards are supported by industry giants such as Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline.
Each of the awards highlight the important role that UK pharmacists and their staff play in delivering pharmaceutical services to their community.
Gary Paragpuri, Editor of Chemist+Druggist (C+D) said "Community Pharmacists in the UK are delivering some truly innovative services from medicines reviews to diagnostic screening and all of the C+D Awards winners and finalists are at the forefront of the revolution in pharmacy services. They have set the bar high and are blazing a trail for community pharmacy and thoroughly deserve the recognition these awards bring".
